Dream Rides, 1st July 2007

So Clean were proud to be among the sponsors of the Dream Rides charity event which took place at Wickham Court School in Kent on Sunday 1st July 2007, successfully raising over £5000 for Great Ormond St Hospital.

Over 30 FERRARI and other sports car owners generously gave up their time to offer spectators a short ride in their choice of 'dream car'. In return, people were asked for a donation to raise money for cancer research at Great Ormond Street Hospital in memory of a little local girl, Molly Biederman who died at Christmas of cancer aged 5 years.

The event was aimed at raising awareness of childhood cancers (as in 85% of cases, Molly's cancer would have been curable if it had been discovered in time) and also for Great Ormond St Hospital where pioneering surgery is carried out on children with this awful disease. Molly’s plight was featured in the Channel 5 documentary ‘A child in a million’ earlier this year; her website can be viewed at www.wecanbeatwilms.org

Simon Gasson, Director of So Clean said, “Rob and Emma Biederman have been personal friends for many years, it was a great pleasure to be involved in the day”. Simon proved a useful addition to the marshalling team, who ensured the passengers, drivers and supporters all enjoyed a fun and safe day out.

Following this year’s success, “Dream Rides” looks set to become an annual fund raiser which everyone can enjoy, whilst making a positive contribution to a very valuable cause.  So Clean looks forward to next years event and would welcome any additional support from our friends in the local business community.
